It seems that almost weekly we witness a mass killing in the United States whether in a school, university, movie theater or any of a number of other soft targets by a deranged individual. However, in Bhopal, India the big news of the day is the sighting and capture of a tiger who has strayed into the village.
This particular tiger was spotted on the roof of the Central Institute of Agriculture and Engineering. The area around the Kaliasot Dam near Bhopal is a known tiger watching location, and crowds gather whenever one is spotted. One day earlier, this particular tiger named T-1, was spotted near the town. As he had climbed to the roof of the building sharpshooters armed with tranquilizer darts were positioned using a cherry picker to disable the tiger.
This sequence of photos leading to the safe capture of T-1 was submitted to DPI by Devendra Dube who is based in Bhopal.
