It's the first week in May. Where are our gardeners?

WHERE ARE MY GARDENERS?

Our relationship with our lawn service goes back ten years. They are almost like family to us. Before depending on their company I used to mow my own lawn, but a heart attack ended that earlier period. I still do about everything else that a lawn could need myself except the actual mowing. The service has been completely dependable in the past. Occam’s Razor would say that the reason they have gone AWOL is that the truck broke down. That would be reason number one. Sickness might be another excuse. But if you believe in conspiracy theories this could be something else.

Is a scuba diver about to become dinner? Cayman Islands (1994).

SCUBA DIVERS OF THE CARIBBEAN

I can never be accused of being an ichthyologist. DPI has recently acquired a collection of underwater images taken by scuba divers off the Cayman Islands in 1994. It will take some time to edit the entire collection both as a slide show presentation within our blog and as a special event in our Sports collection. We are showing two images at this time in order to give you some idea of what is to come in the weeks ahead.

Home overlooking the Great South Bay is having its foundation raised.

SUPER STORM SANDY

The hurricane, a/k/a Super Storm Sandy, that hit Long Island in October 2012 devastated some communities along the south shore. In particular, Lindenhurst was among the hardest hit. The New York National Guard patrolled the town for several days. Some lost all, all lost some.
