KOREAN DMZ
By Mike Lander on
The demilitarized zone. Sure enough, with one million mines separating the Republic of Korea from the DPRK. Much has been written about the DMZ, and with the Trump-Kim Jong Un summit meeting underway in Hanoi it might pay to reflect just who or what the West is dealing with. I hope that these photos will be illuminating.
The lead photo is “Korean DMZ”. Unless you have been there you cannot appreciate the true meaning of freedom. You are standing literally at the edge of freedom. The warning signs concerning the minefields were brought back as souvenirs as new metal signs have replaced these deteriorating original wooden ones. Notice the blood stains on these signs.
Finally, one more souvenir brought back from the DMZ, an armband worn by our military police at Panmunjom.
